After weeks of leaks and speculation, Honor has officially confirmed the X80 Pro Max. It launches June 22 at 7 PM in China.
The screen
10,000 nits peak brightness. That's a 67% jump over the X70. 6.8-inch 1.5K OLED (2788×1280), 120Hz, 1.3mm bezels. Full-screen brightness hits 2,000 nits — the 10,000 figure is局部 peak (small screen areas in HDR). Still, outdoor visibility should be unmatched. 3840Hz PWM dimming for eye comfort.
The battery
11,000 mAh — the largest in any mainstream smartphone. Supports 90W wired and 27W reverse wired charging. Despite the size, it's 8.08mm thick and 203g.
In a real-world test, satellite engineers in a 45°C desert ran the phone for 17 hours straight — shooting, recording, communicating and it held up. Six-hour heavy-use test: 89% at 11:11 AM, 26% at 4:25 AM the next day.

Bottom line
10,000 nits is partly marketing but 2,000 nits full-screen and 11,000 mAh battery are genuinely impressive. Add IP69K waterproofing, 3-meter drop protection, and free screen repairs, and this looks like a durability-focused workhorse.
