Apple’s Siri AI Lawsuit: What iPhone Owners Need to Know Right Now

If you bought an iPhone 15 Pro or any iPhone 16 model between June 2024 and March 2025, you might be owed some money.

Apple agreed to pay $250 million to settle a class-action lawsuit accusing the company of misleading customers about AI-powered Siri features that never showed up on time. The company marketed a “more personalized” Siri with on-screen awareness and cross-app controls—features that simply weren’t ready.

Here’s where things stand right now.

Who Qualifies?

You’re eligible if you’re a U.S. resident who purchased one of these models between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025:
  • iPhone 15 Pro
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max
  • iPhone 16
  • iPhone 16e
  • iPhone 16 Plus
  • iPhone 16 Pro
  • iPhone 16 Pro Max
That’s roughly 36 to 37 million eligible devices.

How Much Will You Get?

The base payment is $25 per device. But if fewer people file claims than expected, that could jump to $95 per device. The lawyers expect the standard payout to land around the $25 mark.

What’s the Timeline?

The settlement still needs final court approval—a hearing is set for June 17, 2026. If approved:
  • June 22, 2026: Apple identifies eligible customers
  • August 7, 2026: Apple notifies customers
  • November 6, 2026: Claim filing deadline
A settlement website will go live in the coming months—no action is required from you right now.

Where’s Siri AI Now?

Apple finally announced the revamped “Siri AI” at WWDC 2026 last month. It’s available for testing on the iOS 27 developer beta, with a public beta coming this month and a full release expected in September.

The irony? The features that sparked this lawsuit are finally arriving—two years after they were promised.
