Former BCB Directors Fahim, Nazmul to Lead NCP’s National Sports Alliance

Former BCB Directors Fahim, Nazmul to Lead NCP’s National Sports Alliance

Two former Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) directors are stepping back into the spotlight—this time with a political edge. Nazmul Abedeen Fahim and M. Nazmul Islam are set to lead the National Sports Alliance, a newly formed wing of the National Citizens Party (NCP).

The alliance is scheduled to officially launch on Monday, November 2, 2026, at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) in Dhaka. Fahim will serve as the convener, while Nazmul Islam takes on the role of member secretary.

Both men bring extensive BCB experience. Fahim, a well-known cricket analyst, previously served as a senior vice-president and head of cricket operations under the Aminul Islam Bulbul-led committee. Nazmul Islam chaired the finance committee in the same administration but made headlines for controversial remarks regarding player financial losses during the T20 World Cup.

The alliance aims to develop the country's sports sector, oversee overall operations, and encourage youth participation in sports. A full roadmap and organizational outline will be unveiled at the launch event.
